Look for spring flowers and birds at Hayward Lake in Mission. This is a moderately easy but long hike around the lake, up to 17km total, with a couple of short but steep bits. Expect some wet or muddy sections. Bring lunch, raingear, and wear good hiking boots. Carpool at Franklin and Penticton at 0800 or meet at the lower parking lot of the Hayward Lake Recreation Area, on the west side of the lake off Dewdney Trunk Road, at 0900. See http://www.bchydro.com/community/recreation_areas/hayward_lake.html for directions. Bill Kinkaid 604-710-6329.
