Fire and Ice

"Smoke Signals", a very short "YorkU" report, explains why forecasting the spread of escaped forest fires is particularly valuable (p.10).

"Ice Break", also published in "YorkU," reports on the effects of global warming on Arctic communities, animals, water, and the atmosphere and is accompanied by spectacular photographs of Baffin Island (p.20-22).  To view additional photographs of the area go to www.reflectioncom.com/nrb.

Both reports appear in the February 2010 edition of "YorkU" found at York University Magazine.
