A 4 to 5 hour botanical/geology hike along trails within Cove and Mountain Forest Park, District of North Vancouver. The highlight of this walk will be a grove of old growth Douglas-fir that survived the logging of the area. Other highlights will be the view point at Grey Rock (Quarry Rock) and a giant old growth Douglas-fir once used as a Bald Eagle nest tree. Meet at 0930 hours for car pooling at Parkgate Mall outside Safeway. We will then proceed to the trail head at the intersection of Indian River Road and Francis Creek where there is limited parking. For further information contact David at (604)924-0147 or email cookeco2@yahoo.com.
