Birding in Saint Lucia

2010/09/02 7:30 pm
Speaker:
Jo Ann MacKenzie
Saint Lucia is a Caribbean island in the Lesser Antilles. The island is one of the Caribbean’s cruise ship destinations, but cruise passengers see little of it other than Castries, the capital city and main port.   Consequently, most people are unaware of the island’s birding potential. There is also the conservation success story of how the beautiful St. Lucia Parrot, the National Bird, was saved from extinction. St. Lucia offers birders much more than sun, sand and sea.
