Volunteers needed for a research project at Kwantlen Polytechnic University

PostDateIcon Tue, 2010/07/06 - 3:40pm | PostAuthorIcon Kelly_Sekhon

Hello. My name is Eva Prkachin, and I am a research assistant for Dr. Kyle Matsuba who is a professor of Psychology at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. We are currently conducting a study that examines personal experience in three areas: the environment, community and work. This research aims to gather information from people from several age groups who dedicate significant portions of their energy to environmental causes.

Since your organization provides volunteering opportunities, we seek your help in contacting individuals who exhibit exemplary characteristics in environmental commitment. Specifically, we are interested in talking to individuals over the age of 60. If you can spare the time, we would appreciate it if you could help us to get in contact with people who might be interested in our study. We hope that this research will contribute to environmental stewardship by promoting a better understanding of what motivates people to contribute to environmental activism and work.
Participants will be asked to fill out seven questionnaires and attend an in-person interview. In total, the study should take between 2 and 3 hours of our participant’s time. As a token of our appreciation, all participants will receive a $50 honorarium.

If you require any clarification, please do not hesitate to contact me at eprkachinATshaw.ca or (604) 329-0716; or you can reach Dr. Matsuba at
kyle.matsubaATkwantlen.ca or (604) 649-5115.

Thank you very much for your time,
Eva Prkachin
