Shorebird numbers should be high as adults and the summer's juveniles continue their journey south. This is also the beginning of peak migration for some of the West Coast's less common species. We'll concentrate on simple techniques for identifying these birds to species, age, and even sex--and discover that shorebird identification is not nearly as hard as myth would have it. Meet at 1:30 p.m. near the restrooms. Leader: Rick Wright, birdazATgmail.com.
