This will be a moderately strenuous hike with probable snow and wet and muddy sections. We will hike up the trail to the meadows then return via the high 4wd road, leaving a vehicle or two lower down so we don't have to hike back up to the trailhead. Bring hiking boots, raingear, and lunch and water for a full day - see the main Field Trip page for information on preparation. PLEASE NOTE: This hike is strongly weather-dependent. The trail can be rough and the road is open and exposed - if the weather is wet we will do a different hike to be decided closer to the day.
