Birding in Italy

PostDateIcon Sat, 2007/12/01 - 2:36pm | PostAuthorIcon Visitor

Dear friends and colleagues,

I am an Italian free lance biologist, expert in fauna and wildlife. I work as a guide in central Italy. I am sending you this e-mail to promote my country among birders, naturalists and biologists around the world, who are perhaps unaware that Italy can be interesting for wildlife as well as for food, wine, history, and art. Thinking about the most important areas for nature in Europe, experts usually refer to Spain, France, Romania, Great Britain, etc. However, in Italy, you can find many places very rich in biodiversity.

Visiting our wetlands in winter, walking inside the typical rural landscape or hiking in the mountains of central Italy, it is very easy to discover extraordinary refuges for many species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. In this degree, I can help people find and enjoy wildlife; with tasting excellent wines and local products as well. The various locations include Maremma, Valdorcia, the Po Delta, the Apennines and other hidden sites rich in wilderness. Besides guiding groups or families for 1-2 days, I can assist in the organization of trips suggesting itineraries and recommending accommodation. It would give me great pleasure to pursue these potential opportunities with members of your organization. I invite you also to visit my web site www.walkinginetruria.com

Best regards,

Marco Valtriani
