Biodiversity Blitz

PostDateIcon Wed, 2008/05/07 - 2:55pm | PostAuthorIcon Visitor

My name is Sean Magee I am a recent graduate of SFU's Environmental Science Program and I am currently organizing a Biodiversity Blitz.  The idea behind the name is to identify as many species as possible in a given area and time (24hrs).
The event is going to take place on May 30th to 31st from 7pm to 7pm. The area we will be surveying is the forest around SFU campus on Burnaby Mountain and also in the intertidal at Barnett Marine Park.

We currently are in need of volunteers to help collect and identify the specimens.  We are interested in having as much diversity as possible so all organisms that we have an ID specialist for will be surveyed.

If you are interested, please contact Sean Magee

Although the event is 24 hours long no one will be participating for the entire 24 hours. As well, there are going to be organizational meetings starting early next week and then the following week as well.
