During the fall and winter, the low tides in our area occur at night.  This is the perfect opportunity to observe some of the nocturnal creatures that can be found in our local intertidal zones.  We will meet at the Children's Water Park in Stanley Park (near Lumberman's Arch) and walk down to the accessible sandy and rocky areas.  Bring a waterproof flashlight and/or a headlamp.  Dress warmly, with waterproof footgear, as we will spend up to two hours on the beach.  It can be slippery on the damp rocks, making this beach walk unsuitable for persons with mobility difficulties or for young children.  Evening parking is free at Stanley Park.  There is a small parking lot located directly across the road from the meeting spot.  This field trip will be rescheduled if the wind and rain are excessive, so please advise Joan Lopez (606-682-1617) if you intend to join in the fun.
